Home stay operators of tourism village of Mirsa at Machhapuchhchre Gaupalika of Kaski district have been given training to prepare 30 different dishes to provide variety of cuisines to tourists. The locals stated that a 4 day training program for Home stay Tourism Development organised by Nepal Government Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Ministry Tara District Development Committee, provided the training to prepare 30 different dishes on Friday and Saturday.
“Veg and chicken soup, egg pakauda, banana apple feeder, aaluchap are the few dishes we learned to prepare professionally”, said Ban Subba Gurung, chairperson of Mirsa homestay management committee. Two day theoretical and two day practical training will enable us to welcome guest in proper way with our own local production, she added.
Food Tech Mr. Rajkumar Lama told that the 30 homestay operators including 8 men were trained on how to attract tourist, how to welcome them and provide them with locally produced organic food items.
Program coordinator Mr. Shambhu Karki informed that the training was provided by head coach Mr. Madan Baniya and Food Technician Mr. Rajkumar Lama. The committee has conducted a similar training at Kaskikot Kaski as well this year. Mirsa is currently operating home stay at 16 homes. Buddhi Kumari Gurung, ex chairperson of Mirsa home stay management committee said that the village was operating home stay since 2069 B.S.
