Tourism Pokhara. Free blood test of 352 individuals was done in Puranchaur, Pokhara today.
352 individuals tested for diabetes and bad fat present in blood in a free check-up camapaign organised by Janasewa Bachat Tatha Rin Sahakari(Cooperative) Puranchaur, Pokhara and technically assisted by United Reference Laboratory (URL) Pvt. Ltd.
Speaking in the event Dr. Ramchandra Kafle, Senior Heart Disease Specialist, informed that the habit of smoking increases bad fat in blood and decreases essential fats needed for body bringing various heart related problems. He said, ” I have found that lost 90 pc of patient suffering heart attack have a habit of smoking.” He also suggested that a balanced eating habit and lifestyle can decrease the risk of diabetes hugely.
Thakur Prasad Panta, Managing Director of URL said that the health campaign was organised to provide easily accessible health services to public in their own neighbourhood. He also informed that URL was conducting various such campaigns with the support of different organisations aiming to raise awareness against diabetes as well as to identify and provide proper medication to those who are already suffering from it.
In the program Kamal Bastola, Ward Member of Ward 19, Puspa Raj Poudel, coordinator of Accounting Committee and Tej Bahadur Adhikari, former Chairperson of Ward Committee expressed their views.
In the program chaired by Liladhar Adhikari, Chairman of Cooperative, Indra Kumari Poudel, Vice Chairman gave the welcome speech and Govinda Poudel, Secretary of Cooperative hosted the program.
