After a decade long hiatus, Kahun Danda, a possible tourism destination with huge prospects, is ready to host 3rd edition of Kahun Dharahara Festival.

Situated at just 7 Km distance from Mahendrapool of Pokhara, Kahun Danda, however has not been able to mark its presence in tourism sector as per its prospects. Due to lack of promotion, slow infrastructural development, inattention from tourism related personnel and often overshadowed by other hill stations around Pokhara, Kahun Danda has long awaited for a chance to express.

This time around, Janakalyan Club, organizer, and Fulbari Club, co-organizer of the Kahun Dharahara Festival have decided to step up and promote their locality themself with the help of festival. The festival is set to be celebrated from December 14 to December 24.

Speaking in the press meet organized at festival venue Kahun Danda, Mohan Prasad Bastola, chairman of Ward-11, Pokhara Metro, expressed his firm belief that the festival will help to promote the area significantly. He claimed that the mountain scenes and sight of Pokhara metro from Kahun Danda is second to none. He also requested the tourism entrepreneurs of Pokhara to include Kahun Danda mandatorily in their packages.

Dipak Prasad Acharya, coordinator of event informed that the festival will include 80 different stalls that will entertain spectators with food items, local agricultural products, tourism related products and info centres. He also informed that few stalls are yet to be booked. Emphasizing the importance of Festival for attracting spectators, Acharya added that the festival aims to promote tourism rather than making financial profits.

The festival will be sponsored NMB Bank and promoted by Pokhara Metro and Nepal Tourism Board.
