Tourism Pokhara. A park established in premises of Shiva Mandir, Gaurighat was inaugurated on Tuesday.
Park was jointly inaugurated by Rabindra Adhikari, Member of Parliament and Rajib Pahari, Member of Provincial Assembly. MP Adhikari in the event said that a special program is already made to conserve Fewa Lake and develop Lakeside area as attractive and popular tourism destination throughout the world. He also informed that the new government will come with the special work plan. He added that the Aqua Plant Harvester machine that was brought recently to control unwanted vegetation in various lakes of city has already started its work. The machinery was brought under Election Area Special Infrastructure Development Program in coordination with Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan. He also said that a permanent long lasting solution to remove soil encroachment in Fewa Lake should be sorted out instead of temporary methods that needs to be repeated frequently.
Similarly Rajib Prahari, Member of Provincial Assemby of Province 4 expressed his firm determination to tackle any hindrance that comes in way to conserve Fewa lake. He also vowed to develop Lakeside as technologically sound area. In the program local leader Bishnu Hari Adhikari, Chairman of Pokhara Tourism Council Kedar Sharma, Chairman of Po.Le Ward-6, Bharat Bahadur Pahari and others expressed their views.
The total cost of construction was Rs 401 Thousands out of which 100 thousand was provided by MP Rabindra Adhikari under Election Area Development Program and the remaining fund was collected by local participation.
The program that was chaired by Love Bhujel, chairman of Shiva Mandir Park Construction Committee, was conducted by Krishna Pahari, Secretary of Committee and welcome speech was given by Kush Bhujel, chairman of Gaurighat Environment and Society Reform Committee.
