Security Tightens Targeting Holi Festival

Tourism Pokhara. Special security plan will be implemented by Police in major centres of city targeting Holi festival tomorrow.

Police have informed about the security management and special security plan for Holi festival in a press met organized on Wednesday. The special security plan will focus on managing crowded areas, control riots, fights, use of weapons, use of alcoholic products as well as detaining those who force people to play Holi against their will in particular.

As per the security plan, police personnel will be deployed from early morning on Thursday. Their will be regular patrol, motorcycle patrol, civil coded police patrol and drink driving test coordinating with traffic police throughout the day to prevent any unwanted activities.

Similarly police have banned on use on water filled balloons (lolas) or smearing colours against the will of any individuals. DSP Khadka Bahadur Khatri said, “Anyone, be it children, will be punished if found guilty violating the rules.”

Kaski Police will be mainly focusing on tourism sites as a huge mass gets collected in those areas. Lakeside area, where musical and cultural events will also be organised will be focused in particular as per the security plan.  DSP Khatri informed that a formidable number of police personnel in police code as well as civil code will be deployed in Chowks of Lakeside.

Police have requested everyone to celebrate a harmonious and peaceful holi. Police have also requested to use clean water and healthy colours and not to use mobil, enamel, carbon containing chemical colours.  Kaski Police is also preparing to organise a rally with informative banners to make the festival civilized and mannered. Police have already started miking in their vans  to spread general awareness.

District Police Office Kaski along with Community Service Centre and Community Police Service Centre of Prithvi Chowk, Baidam, Bagar, Matepani, Lekhnath, Kalika, Hemja have requested everyone to cooperate to celebrate Holi as a festival of harmony and unity and build a civilized society.
