A day-long workshop is organised at Pokhara for developing unique brand identity of Tourism in Gandaki Province. The workshop is organised by Nepal Tourism Board Pokhara.
Rabindra Adhikari, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation addressing the workshop said that the work of infrastructure building has been intensified keeping in sight, the government’s goal to achieve 2 Million tourists in the year 2020. He added that effective utilization of numerous tourism possibilities of province could be the key to economic prosperity.
Bikas Lamsal, Minister of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment Development for Gandaki province emphasized on the expansion of current accomodation capacity of 25 thousand visitors daily to 100 thousands with proper infrastructural development. He believed that the workshop could be proper platform for developing new idea and establish a clear vision for state’s tourism policy.
Deepak Raj Joshi, Chief Executive Officer of the Nepal Tourism Board, said that a competitive tourism policy in both regional and international level is the need of time. Also Joshi added that the unique tourist specialty and brand of every state should be the basis of tourism related infrastructural development.
Tourism expert Terance de Costa said that every state and nation have their own unique tourism brand which could be the most effective strategy for the development of tourism industry.
Surya Thapaliya, Manager of the Nepal Tourism Board, Pokhara, informed that 80 tourism related personalities and stakeholders are participating in the workshop that aims to identify specific tourism identity.
